What documents do I need for the Customs clearance?

- ID copy (with signature on it)
- Authorisation for direct representation (we will send this to you)
Do you offer transport insurance?
Yes, we even recommend it. You can choose between all risk and limited coverage.
What import duties and taxes do I have to pay for vehicles in The Netherlands?
For vehicles, import duties are 10% and import taxes are 21%.
For oldtimers, import duties are 0% and import taxes are 9% (the vehicle needs to meet certain requirements. Amongst others it needs to be older than 30 years and needs to be in its original state.)
What import duties and taxes do I have to pay for motorcycles in The Netherlands?
For motorcycles, import duties are 6% and import taxes are 21%.
For oldtimers, import duties are 0% and import taxes are 9% (the motorcycle needs to meet certain requirements. Amongst others it needs to be older than 30 years and needs to be in its original state.)
How are import duties calculated?
Import duties are levied over the CIF port of destination value. CIF stands for Cost, Insurance, Freight. So it's the cost of the vehicle + transport insurance + freight charges from place of origin to arrival port of destination.
How are import taxes calculated?
Import taxes are levied over the CIF port of destination value (see above) + import duties + local handling charges at the port of destination + delivery charges up to arrival final destination.
Do you also import cars as removal goods, tax-free?
Yes, we can also arrange that for you.
In order to be eligible for tax exemption you have to meet certain requirements.

What is ro/ro shipping?
Roll on roll off means your vehicle to roll on and off the vessel, as opposed to being lifted onboard using cranes. Self-propelled products such as cars, tractors and other machinery, roll on and off the vessel on their own wheels.
